The Black Tie Ball held by REACH on the 15th May at Brighouse Sports Club was an enormous success and raised in excess of £2700 for our campaign. REACH campaigners donned their ball gowns, bow ties and tiaras for the night and filled the venue to capacity for a spectacular evening of dining, dancing and fundraising.

A gourmet three course meal was followed by a lively disco as well as other activities. The catering staff did a splendid job and deserve a huge thank you. The biggest thank you of the evening went to Mandy Naylor for all her hard work organising the event. DJ Andrew Parkin provided the soundtrack, giving his services for free and acting as MC with some help from REACH leader Karen Rowling.

One of the highlights of the evening was a fundraising auction conducted in flamboyant fashion by Paul Morris who had come along as a guest unaware that he would be called on to do a job as well. Of course when someone mentioned that he happened to work as an auctioneer on a cruise liner that was it…the auctioneer’s job was his and what a great job he did! Items up for auction had all been kindly donated by local businesses, friends and supporters of the REACH campaign. Photography was provided by local photographer Katie Byram and a percentage of everything she took went into the REACH fund.

The REACH revellers partied well into the night and everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable time, so much so that people are now asking the question “when can we have another one?”………..The answer is watch this space! To see the REACH Ball picture gallery click here
